Sharon Longmore is celebrating 35 years working with Junee Hospital as an assistant in nursing, a milestone that has been respected by the community.

Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) extended their congratulates to Sharon Longmore as well.

Loved by her colleagues and patients alike, Sharon’s career with MLHD began as a cleaner than she moved up to a ward’s person and eventually as an Assistant in Nursing following the finishing of her studies in 2010.

Sharon was thankful of her journey and where she ended up.

“I started back as a cleaner back in 1987 and just loved the environment.

Then we needed wards people, so I did that while I was studying for my AIN’s,” she said.

“I just love working with the oldies, they are insightful and very funny at times. I enjoy my work and invest quality time with the patients I care for.

“Sometimes it’s the little things that can make the biggest difference.

“I feel fortunate to be working with such a fantastic bunch of people, we all just get on with the doing and make sure our people are well taken care of.”

Carly Silberberg, Nurse Manager at Junee Hospital, congratulated Sharon on her special achievement this week as well.

“We thank her for her dedication and contribution to the team, her patients and to MLHD over the past 35 years,” she said.

“35 years in the health service is no easy feat and Sharon’s skills, care and lovely personality really do shine through.

Junee Hospital was also acknowledged again this week by MLHD for World Diabetes Day last Monday, where Maree Archer, who is on the frontlines of the fight against diabetes, was given recognition for her work.

Junee is remaining healthy and safe with medical assistance like this.
