After the success of the Spring Sessions at the Athenium garden, Junee Council have gone ahead to provide the community with another event on Friday which has generated hype within the community.
Junee Communication & Event Coordinator, Alana Lesslie, said that Council was excited to announce the second instalment of the summer session series.
“This is the second event in the Summer Sessions series and we are excited to be hosting not only a fantastic young musician in Rory Phillips but also the delicious Spanish flavours of Maria’s Paella,” she said.
“Summer Sessions will take place this Friday evening from 5:30pm in the outdoor function space at the Athenium Theatre.
“This space has proved to be a fantastic, relaxed environment and one that is perfect for soaking up the amazing warm weather which we are finally now seeing. It’s the perfect way to welcome in Summer.”
One of the main attractions to the event is live music from Rory Phillips, a 16-year-old musical sensation with many influences that span blues, alt-country, folk and rock. He was Snowy Valleys Council Young Citizen of the Year in 2020, winner of the 2RRR Junior Male Rising Star in the 2019 Tamworth Country Music Festival and winner of the Bidgee Blues Club People’s Choice Award in 2016.
“We are super excited to have Rory Phillips on board for the event on Friday evening, he is a phenomenal young man who has a talent way beyond his years.
“Spring Session held in early November which was the first event in the Summer Sessions series was a brilliant success which saw over 60 people come out and enjoy the fantastic new outdoor space at the Athenium Theatre.
“It was great to see so many community members coming out to support the event which saw the space almost at capacity.”
Come down to the Athenium to enjoy the sunshine at one of Junee’s best spots.
