Handbags to Help Heal project comes to Fruition

Handbags waiting to be filled.

The Junee Rotary Handbags to Help Heal project, run in conjunction with the Junee Community Centre, has been completed. Sixty filled handbags were delivered to the Community Centre ready for distribution to women in the community who are doing it tough in different ways.

The idea for the project was muted at the Junee All Things Women event, run by the Junee Community Centre last March and the call went out for near new handbags and donations. We acknowledge the support of Inland Rail for this project and other individuals and organisations who have contributed in some way to the success of the project.

What started out as an idea grew into a project which received very positive community support and it is wonderful to know that the donated handbags are now filled with different types of useful, necessary and special items that will make vulnerable women feel better about themselves and benefit from receiving something for themselves.
