After the fires earlier this year that devastated a row of businesses in Junee, Glass Hardware, one of the affected businesses, has been able to get back up on its feet and restore the drive thru, but the work isn’t done yet.
Still operating in a limited capacity, Glass Hardware is still trying its best to restore itself, but time is still needed before its back to 100 percent.
David Leah, General Manager of the Coop, gave the Junee Independent an exclusive update on how they’re rebuilding at this time.
“We’ve got as much as we possibly can have on site at the moment, and we’re getting more in daily. We’ll still be running shuttle runs from the Wagga store over to cover what members and clients need, and we’re just trying to keep things moving as quickly as we can given the situation that was dealt to us. We are trying to make sure that we have all our products either on farm or in store ready for everyone when needed,” he said.

David said that the community have been supportive, but there is still time and support needed for the foreseeable future.
“We want people to come in and have a look at the range that we have got and talk to the friendly staff we have at Junee, who are always there, willing to help out in whatever way possible.
“If we don’t have it, we can get it in from Wagga as quickly as we can, we’re doing multiple runs per day between the two stores.

“The staff have been fantastic. It’s an unforeseen event that you never want to have to go through, but they’ve handled it with professionalism and dedication to get the operation up and running.”
Despite all this, David said that the community support so far has meant a lot to the entire team.
“It means a lot to us as a member owned cooperative. It just shows how important our type of business is to the community because everything that goes through us goes back into the community.
“I just want to thank everyone for the support and the feedback from everyone has been nothing but supportive.”
