Applications are now open for the NSW Government’s Local Sport Grant Program, providing support for grassroots sporting clubs and associations across the Cootamundra electorate.
Grants of between $2,000 and $20,000 are available to eligible not-for-profit sporting organisations for projects that help strengthen local clubs and encourage greater participation.
The program was established to support initiatives that increase participation, remove barriers to involvement and improve the experience offered by community sporting organisations.
Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke said local clubs play an important role in communities across the electorate and that it is vital that governments continue to invest in their future.
“Local sporting clubs rely on committed volunteers, and this program provides practical support to help them continue the work they do,” Ms Cooke said.
“Every club knows where support is needed most, and these grants give organisations the chance to address local priorities.”
The funding is also aimed at helping clubs become more sustainable and ensuring more people have the opportunity to take part in organised sport.
To be eligible, applicants must be incorporated not-for-profit sporting clubs or associations affiliated with a recognised State Sporting Organisation or State Sporting Organisation for people with disability.
Applications close 24 August 2026, and all projects must be delivered by 30 June 2028.
Ms Cooke encouraged clubs to review the program guidelines and consider applying.
