On Sunday 27 July 2025, St Lukes Anglican Church celebrated the retirement of Reverend David Hilliard. During this celebration David was commended for his work within the church and the wider community of Junee.
Rectors’ warden Adrian Eisenhauer expressed a vote of thanks to Reverend David Hilliard stating his Ministry stretched far beyond Sunday Services to include both Chaplaincy at the Junee Hospital and Cooinda Court Aged Hostel, where he was always welcomed by Residents and Staff alike.
“His ability of ministering to our older residents was evident in their response to him” Adrian said.
During his celebratory luncheon Reverend Hilliard was also awarded a certificate of appreciation in recognition of his pastoral care and general assistance to the Ex-Service Personnel and general community of Junee by Junee RSL Sub-branch (RSL NSW) President Mr Gregory Zakharoff.
Both David and his wife Sus, have become involved in various groups in Junee, including the Junee RSL and Rotary. David has also contributed greatly to Anzac Day and Remembrance Day Ceremonies in Junee and surrounding villages.
While David is stepping down from active Ministries, we are very grateful that they will remain residents of Junee, as they have chosen our town in which to retire. They have made many firm friendships here and we wish them well in their retirement.
