Junee Netball Club are celebrating a fantastic weekend for the club with the B-Grade Ex-Services Blaze going through to the Prelims after beating Aggie Ewes.
The U12 SMC Firebirds and Intermediate Junee Solar Vixens gave a good performance in their elimination finals; however, they were unable to get a win.
Robert Vergano of the Junee Netball Club spoke about the weekend and wished the Blaze good luck for their Saturday game.
“The B grade team won 51-29, so they’ll go through to the final next weekend, which will be one game off the grand final,” he said.
“Next week’s prelim final is at 4:00 at Wagga Equex.
“Blaze has been playing quite well throughout the season. They ended up winning throughout the year, 11 games out of 14. They have had a very successful year.”
The Club said they are appreciative of the Junee Ex-Services Memorial Club for their support. Not only are they grateful for the ongoing support of the Junee Netball Club, but they’re also astonished that the team have powered their way to finishing 3rd on the ladder overall along side making finals.
The Club said this support keeps players on court, the juniors growing, and the club spirit thriving. “It would be good to have anyone around Wagga on Saturday to come down and wear your purple and yellow and support the team at the courts.
“The Club and obviously the entire playing group and the committee wish them all the best on Saturday with their preliminary final, and we’re pretty confident they can go on and get the job done and goon to the grand final the following week.”
Sadie Salmon from our U14 QUBE Giants team has also been invited to attend the Wagga Wagga Netball Association Presentation Night, showing how successful the Club has been this year.
The Club said it was an incredible recognition of her talent, dedication, and love for the game. The Club have relayed how proud they are of all their players in this dream year for the Club.
