Illabo Christmas Lights is one of the biggest walk-through displays in the Riverina. Our 2025 display is bigger and better than it has ever been before!
There are more pathways, more lights, more characters, more things to find, more photo opportunities, lots of inflatables, new scenes and an 11m tunnel.
WHEN TO COME? -8:30 pm – 10:30 pm, 1st – 25th of December
Best viewing after 9:00 pm, as some of the lights are solar powered. We have a lot of new additions to this year’s display, and so far, the kids coming through have named most of them as their favourite thing from the whole display.
My favourite would have to be the thong tree in our Australiana section, after having the idea during last year’s season and finally getting to see the vision 12 months later. We have a longer list of things to find this year. This is something we were just asking kids last year who weren’t really looking at the details of the display.

We found it would give parents time to enjoy the display and would make the display even more fun for the kids. As it was so popular for kids of all ages and even the adults, we’ve now added question sheets and crayons at the front of the display for anyone who wants to join in.
Santa is coming to Illabo Christmas Lights with the help of Illabo RFS. Saturday 20th December, 8:30 pm – 10:30 pm. Everyone who sits with Santa for a photo will get a little gift.
We are collecting donations this year for a young mum battling a neurological condition called “Severe ChiariMalformation Type 1 with Syringomyelia”. You can make a cash donation into the collection bucket or by EFT using the QRcode, both located at the front of our display.
We (The Barkers) often get asked where our love for Christmas came from and why we do our display today. We met when they were only 10 years old at a Christmas light display. 10 years later, our first date was Christmas light looking. When we moved in together in Sydney, it was important to us to decorate our rental house, as Christmas had brought us together from the start. In 2018, we bought our house in Illabo and quickly realised the front yard is a lot more space to decorate, so we started growing our display, and it became a walk-through display that people loved instantly.
This year is the second time we have moved our display onto our half-acre blocks next door to expand on it after it was so popular last year. It allows us to change the shape of the pathway and be able to make a different display to keep it interesting for the people who come every single year. We get hundreds of people coming out to see our display every year from all over the Riverina and as far away as Sydney.
Some locals come out multiple times each season and like to bring visiting guests to show them just how exciting a little country town can be. We are proud to be making a difference in our local community and putting on some magic of Christmas for everyone to enjoy.
