Junee Community Christmas Lunch

A Christmas Day Junee Community Lunch will be held at the Athenium at 12:00 pm, giving a place for those who don’t want to spend Christmas alone or just enjoy a free Christmas Lunch.

John Foorde of the Open Kitchen says anyone who wishes to have a plate at the table should RSVP to him on 0427315 684 by December 19.

“It’s free, so just bring yourself and enjoy yourself,” he said. “It will be a roast dinner followed by a choice of sweets; you get one or the other.” On the menu is baked ham, roast meats, potatoes, pumpkin, buttered green beans, cauliflower, broccolicheese bake, and condiments. Desert is cheesecake and pavlova.

“It’s open for anyone and everyone. There are lots of people who celebrate Christmas on their own, so it’s a great fellowship thing as well.

“You don’t have to be lonely at Christmas time.

“Anyone is welcome, no matter what their circumstances.”

– Jack Murray
