Junee Jaguars have a new President in Scott Mutimer as they search for new players to begin their 2026 season.
A handful of players have left since the 2025 season, and a call out has been put out to build the ranks back up.

Preseason training has started down at Burns Park on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and the club says anyone is more than welcome to come down and meet the squad.
Outgoing President Will McGrath spoke about some of the opportunities that are in place for those interested.
“The Foundation of Football is a course, pretty much for new coaches, targeted towards Mini-Roos coaches, who haven’t had any experience coaching before, so it gives them a bit of an insight into how to direct/coach at a Mini-Roos level,” he said.
“It’s getting some of the younger kids into the game and teaching them the rules. What skill sets they need to know, and how to teach them at a training session.”
The Foundation of Football Coaching Course on Saturday, 21st March, will be held from 9:00am until 4:00pm at Gissing Oval, Turvey Park.
“We don’t directly hold these sessions. They are held over in Wagga by an official coach or people with training licenses, but we encourage Junee people to participate to help grow the sport if they’re interested,” he said.
“Numbers are looking not too bad. We have lost a few. I’ve stepped down as President, because I want to play a higher grade, especially in the Pararoos, so I stepped down.
“Unfortunately, we have lost a few numbers, especially on the men’s side. We have recruited a few who have moved into town. It’s going to be an interesting year.”
Predicted to be a “rebuild year”, Will says they are still looking strong with their third and fourth grade pushing for finals.
“Senior training is Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:30 to 8:00 pm at Burns Park, so any people who moved to town, are returning or are interested, kids this year are more than welcome to come down to see what it’s all about,” he said.
“Scott Mutimer is the new President who will be taking over from me.”
