With a new committee and a meeting coming up on February 16 at the Junee Recreation and Aquatic Centre, Junee Netball is pleased to announce steady registrations, hoping for a great year for the new committee.
The 2026 Junee Netball Club executive committee members are:

Treasurer – Jonty Bruce
Registrar – Lowana Sweeney
The committee is eager to welcome new general members and encourages anyone who is interested in supporting the club and local sport to get in contact.
Registrations for the 2026 Winter Netball Season are now open, and the club is keen to welcome both new and returning players.
Junee Netball Club is committed to supporting participation in sport and community connection. The Club are currently running a registration campaign aimed at broadening awareness and encouraging involvement across all age groups.
The Club is planning to run some Come and Try Netball Clinics, and hopes to get players of all ages involved.
These will be held from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm at the Junee Recreation and Aquatic Centre on the following dates:

Jess Wood, President of the Club, advised being on the lookout for more information on Facebook.
“We started registrations for Junee netball in December, and we are offering up until the end of Feb, a $75 reimbursement back to players who register before the end of Feb to try and get a few more players through,” she said.
“Junee Netball has never charged any fees for the club. We only charge what Wagga charges us to be a part of the competition. We are still trying to make it as cost-effective as possible for people.
“Registrations are about the same as they have been in most other years, so we sort of tend to see the peak in March, typically. Sitting steady at the moment, but definitely looking for a few more.
“We’ve got a couple of programs planned, so from week four, term one onwards, we’ve got the four-week program at the Rec Centre to give some kids an opportunity to come and play and give our coaches a bit of a run as well before the season starts. Then there’s another one in the next lot of school holidays planned to give kids an opportunity to come and try it out for free, and a bit of a get-together.
“It definitely helps the club out for people to register interest early so we can start putting teams together that way. Being a small club, you rely on knowing who’s around, and it would be nice to see a team for each age group this year if we could, but that might be a bit optimistic. It definitely helps us get organised for the season.
“Last year was successful for the club. There were a couple of teams that played in the grand finals, which was really good for the club, good exposure and a good opportunity for those more senior players.
“The best thing that Junee Netball offers is that inclusive environment for everybody. It becomes a real family event, and we get everyone over there on a Saturday morning, and it gets everyone up and out when it’s cold, and you don’t want to be doing much, but you really feel that sense of community amongst the group.
“Obviously, there are the fitness benefits that come with it for the players, but getting to spend time with their friends, building new relationships and as a family, as a community coming together, that’s really one of the nicest things about the Junee Netball Club. Something that the previous committee did a wonderful job of was setting that foundation, and we are pretty proud to continue carrying that through.”
