Lions Clubs worldwide collect old prescriptions glasses to distribute to people in the world who cannot access them.
The Junee Lions Club are asking for your old prescription glasses, so our club can be involved in this program. The Lions Recycle for Sight Australia is part of the Lions International Worldwide Eyeglass Recycling Program.
The program has been operating for over 25 years and delivered millions of pairs of refurbished quality spectacles to those in need of all ages across many countries.
In Australia there have been close to 19 million pair of spectacles received and processed for Save Sight programs.
The Junee Lions Club is looking for scripted glasses in good condition. Unfortunately, broken and scratched glasses cannot be recycled.
If you have updated your script and have older pairs, please consider donating them to us so we can forward to our national recycling centre.
In Junee, you can drop your scripted glasses off to any of these places and we will take it from there.
