The Junee Poker Run and Blues Night’s Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 12, at 6:00 pm at the Red Cow Hotel. All committee positions will be declared vacant, and everyone is welcome to attend, whether you’re a long-time supporter, a rider, a volunteer, a sponsor or simply someone keen to get involved.
If you ever wanted to be involved in the Poker Run, now is your chance.
Current President, Jen Parsons, said the Poker Run is for the community, but they are always looking for extra hands to help keep it growing and delivering for Can Assist Junee.
“We are in the early stages. Basically, all positions are back open, and we’ll vote for the best team going forward again,” she said.
“Last year was another success, which we’re really happy about. We had a great turnout, and we have a check presentation coming up with Can Assist to give them the final count of what we’re donating to them, as well as all of the other people and volunteer groups that helped us on the day, as well as RFS, Fire Brigade and the Scouts. It’ll be good to be able to get the figures out there once we do that.
“If they can and they want to join a committee, everyone is welcome. It’s a rewarding thing to do, and it’s a great team and committee to work with. We would love more people, the more the merrier, more hands make light work. We would love anyone who would like to join and help out to come along to the meeting.
“It means the world to be able to help the way we do. Cancer kind of touches everyone in some way or form, whether it’s directly or indirectly, family members, friends, or the people around them.
