The Diesels have refuelled this weekend for Anzac Day and are now getting ready for their round 2 game against the Coota Bulldogs on Saturday at Laurie Daley Oval.
It will be a massive day for Junee with a full day of footy, the Diesels 100 Club and the Terry Douglas Memorial Shield.
President of the Diesel’s, David Holt, said Coota are going to be a pretty good side, so the Club won’t underestimate them.
“They came back into the Group 9 competition there last year, but they didn’t win too many games last year. They were competitive, that’s for sure, and they’ve built on the back of that,” he said.
“They’re going to be coming for a win, that’s for sure, especially coming off the back of their win over Temora. I dare say they’d want to keep that rolling on and moving.
“It will be a big day for us. The reserve grade will be the Terry Douglas Memorial Shield, which has been played between the two clubs for the last couple of seasons.
“Riverina Bluebell will be on hand promoting mental well-being. Riverina Bluebell have also donated a set of jumpers for first grade. That’ll be auctioned off after the first grade game. Proceeds of that’ll go to Riverina Bluebell.
“We’ve got our 100 Club on that night as well. It’s a pretty big day for us. It’s gonna be a full day.”
