The Junee Jaguars went to Tumut on Sunday to face the Eagles, but failed to escape the nest with a win, going down 7 – 2.
A dark cloud hovered over the Jaguars from the get-go due to an own goal by Ethan Sainsbury, but Tumut were quick to capitalise on this, sinking two more goals at the start of the game.
It was a disaster for Junee, made worse by another 3 more goals from Tumut, putting the score to 6 – nil. Sosene Vailine managed to put a goal on the scoreboard for Junee, followed by a second goal from Toora Tebotu. Tumut ended the game with a successful penalty goal, sending the Jaguars home with a 5-point loss.
The women, on the other hand, came home with a hard-fought 6 – 2 victory against Charles Sturt FC at Rawlings Park. A hat-trick from Abby Duncan, supported by goals from Ashleigh Goode, Amy Hanlon and Angela Barclay, meant a great win for the girls.
Abby Duncan was awarded player of the match.
Both women and men will take on South Wagga at Burns Park on Sunday.
