An 18-year-old male is currently in Wagga Base Hospital in an induced coma after he was struck by a vehicle on the Olympic Highway, 12 kilometres outside of Junee.
It is alleged the teenager was lying down on the road before he was hit by a vehicle.
He received serious injuries to his chest and legs from the impact and was transported to the Wagga Hospital “in a serious condition”. He was later put into an induced coma.
The driver of the vehicle returned a negative test result.
Police are now asking anyone who might have dash cam footage or information of the incident, or the teenager, to please step forward as they try to piece together what happened.
