It’s that time already to… Start. Your. Engines!
The Junee Show and Shine is returning for their annual Show and Shine on Sunday, 13 September, and the call out has been made for some of the region’s best, shiniest and overall “coolest” vehicles to show what they’ve got.
Junee Motor Club Secretary, Heather Howell says it’s shaping up to be another fabulous event.
“It’s a family friendly day out with lots of classic and historic vehicles on show,” she says.
“We are looking for the coolest cars out there!”
Spectator entry sits at $2 per person, and children under the age of 16 have free entry.
For car entrants, the cost is $10 per car for their first category, and $5 for every entry after that.
The best part? There’s no limit on how many categories contestants can enter.
There are eight categories in total for contestants to fight out for the trophy including,
• Best Ford,
• Best Holden,
• Best ‘Other’,
• Peoples Choice,
• Best Vintage – Pre 1940,
• Best Classic,
• Best Commercial/HotRod, and
• Best Motorcycle.
Entry for all vehicles and spectators can be paid at the gate.
As for food/drink options, Heather says car enthusiasts won’t be starved for choice with Under the Elms Catering providing premium Australian grown, owned and roasted Mackeller Range coffee from their coffee truck.
“[The Junee Motor Club] will be hosting a barbecue with bacon and egg rolls,” she says.
“And later, we will be doing hot dogs and sausage or steak sandwiches.
Gates will open at 9.00am and judging is expected to finish at 1.00pm.
Run by tireless volunteers from the Junee Motor Club, the annual Show and Shine event is a highlight in the calendar for any car enthusiast keen to show off their rigs. Participants do not have to be members of the club to participate, however, interested parties are invited to attend a meeting (on the 4th Wednesday of every month from 7.00pm) to “see what it is all about”.
