Scott Mutimer, Abby Duncan and Carl Baldry were each awarded with life membership at the Jaguars presentation night, for their respective contributions to the Club.
It was a night of pride, reflection and heartfelt celebration as the Junee Jaguars honoured three of their most dedicated club figures with Life Membership at the annual presentation night on Saturday.
Abby Duncan, Carl Baldry, and Scott Mutimer were each recognised for their outstanding commitment and long-standing service to the Jaguars – both on and off the field. All three have worn many hats throughout their time with the club, having served on the committee, coached across junior and senior grades, and made significant contributions as players. Their dedication and passion have left a lasting mark on the club’s culture and community.
Carl Baldry, a Jaguar through and through, was acknowledged for a lifetime of loyalty, having played his entire football career in the blue and gold. His award was presented by fellow Life Member Wayne White in a moment that drew warm applause from the crowd.
Scott Mutimer, who started his journey with the Jaguars as a junior and later returned to the club after moving back to Junee, was recognised for his service both as a player and coach. His Life Membership was presented by long-time club stalwart and Life Member John Puttock.
Perhaps the most touching moment of the evening came with the presentation to Abby Duncan, whose Life Membership was awarded by none other than her father, Craig Duncan. Abby has been a life-long player and tireless contributor to the club, making the family connection a truly special and emotional highlight of the night.
Club President Will McGrath praised the trio for their unwavering commitment.
“These three individuals have given so much of themselves to this club – not just in games played or teams coached, but in the spirit they’ve brought to everything they do. They embody what it means to be a Jaguar.”
In addition to the Life Memberships, several key awards were handed out in recognition of standout performances and contributions across the season.
Players’ Player Awards were presented to:
• Adrian Merigan –4th Grade Yellow
• Joseph Hangkon-hangkon – 4th Grade Blue
• Ben Andrew – Men’s 3rd Grade
• Mel Fountain –Ladies 1st Grade
These awards, voted by teammates, highlight the respect and admiration these players earned within their squads.
Coach of the Year was awarded to Lachlan Philipse for his outstanding leadership in guiding both the Men’s 3rd Grade and 4th Grade Blue teams to Grand Final victories. His commitment, strategy and mentorship were key factors in the club’s on-field success this season.
Finally, the prestigious Club Person of the Year award went to Annette Foley, whose tireless efforts behind the scenes have not gone unnoticed. From running the canteen for every home game to organising social events and playing a vital role on the committee, Annette’s dedication has been instrumental in keeping the club running smoothly.
Club President, Will McGrath summed up the evening perfectly, saying, “Tonight was about honouring the people who make this club what it is —not just through skill, but through heart, commitment and community spirit. We’re incredibly proud of everyone who was recognised.”
