Junee Shire Council are calling for applications for Senior Project Engineers, accountants and Waste Team Leaders to work with Council.
Council said they are looking for applicants with a “proactive, practical approach, a community-focused mindset, and a strong alignment with our cultural values.”

Council said ideal candidates for the first position, Senior Project Manager, will have demonstrated experience and the ability to provide support to the Manager of Engineering Services during peak periods or as needed, ensuring all work meets high standards and complies with plans, documentation and approvals.

“Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will collaborate with the Engineering Team to deliver infrastructure services for the Junee community. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the construction, maintenance, and planning of the Shire’s physical infrastructure.
“As the Senior Project Engineer, you will apply your professional expertise to manage and maintain existing infrastructure assets. Additionally, you will support the implementation of engineering projects in coordination with the Director of Engineering, ensuring the timely and cost-effective completion of Road Maintenance Council Contracts (RMCC) works and other Council works programs. This role involves close collaboration with Transport for NSW (TfNSW) and internal stakeholders.
“You will also play a vital role in identifying, planning, designing and managing new infrastructure projects, ensuring they meet standards, budget constraints and project timelines.
“To be considered, you should have experience applying technical engineering concepts and practices, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects that involve coordinating people and resources. You bring strong motivation and organisational skills, with a focus on system-driven approaches.
“As the Senior Project Engineer, you will establish credibility as a technical expert by demonstrating a thorough understanding of legislation, regulations, design standards, and codes of practice relevant to infrastructure construction, maintenance and public asset management.
“Your proven interpersonal skills will support in leading and motivating staff in different teams/locations, whilst your persuasive skills will be required to resolve problems or provide specialised advice. You will have a demonstrated ability to work within multifunctional areas throughout the Engineering Services of Council. Working knowledge of Local Government legislation covering roads, safety and the environment will be highly regarded.”

“You need to have a degree qualification in Accounting or Commerce, experience working as an Accountant, astrong eye for detail, and confidence utilising accounting systems.

Junee Shire Council is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Waste and Wastewater Team Leader to support the Engineering Services Directorate in delivering exceptional infrastructure and services to the community of Junee Shire.
“Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will work as part of the Engineering Team to coordinate internal and external resources and utilise your technical expertise and hands-on experience to manage our state-of-the-art Sewer Treatment Plant and maintain Council’s new and existing waste and wastewater assets to a high standard.
“As the Waste and Wastewater Team Leader, you will be required to provide hands-on support to operational staff delivering maintenance and capital projects for both the waste and sewer infrastructure across a range of functional areas within the Engineering Directorate.
“You will play a key role in leading and supporting the sewer operators and waste operators to deliver innovative services and infrastructure for the Junee Shire Community. Further, you will support the ongoing development of the sewer and waste teams and oversee the delivery of the waste and wastewater schedule of works in accordance with the nominated budget and industry standards.
“As the successful applicant, you will have experience in the application of technical wastewater management practices and demonstrated ability to foster and lead a small, high-performing team across a range of waste and sewer projects.
“As a leader and subject matter expert, you will have the ability to gain credibility by demonstrating your comprehensive knowledge of legislation, regulations, wastewater systems, treatment plant monitoring systems, irrigation systems and codes of practice relating to the construction and maintenance of waste and wastewater infrastructure.
“Your leadership expertise will encourage and motivate staff to complete scheduled works and provide specialist advice to resolve challenges as they arise.
