Almost ten years ago, Carl and Nicole Baldry welcomed their beautiful son Henry into the world. Though they only had nine precious days with him, Henry’s short life sparked a lasting mission: to fight Mitochondrial Disease and bring hope to families facing this devastating condition.
On Sunday, the Baldrys once again took on their 11th 35km Bloody Long Walk, demonstrating courage, determination, and an unwavering commitment to Henry’s legacy.
Each year, the Baldrys participate in the gruelling fundraiser with Henry’s big brothers, Angus and George, walking the full 35km, while little brother Rupert contributes by walking as much as he can before joining the support crew to keep morale high.
Their effort and perseverance continue to inspire their community. This year, Henry’s Heroes raised an impressive $6,759, with donations still welcome as a way to “ease their tired feet and bodies.”

Looking ahead, to celebrate what would have been Henry’s 10th birthday, Carl and Nicole will be hosting a special Mito fundraiser in Junee. The event will feature fair-like stalls, entertainment, and activities—the perfect way to celebrate turning 10 while supporting a vital cause.
Locals are encouraged to pencil March 29 into their diaries, with more information to be shared closer to the date, and help the Baldry family honour Henry in style.
