Junee RSL is inviting all Veterans, Serving ADF Personnel, along with War Widows and Widowers, living or working in Junee Shire to the Junee RSL Sub-Branch’s 2025 Christmas Party this Sunday at the Junee Ex-Services Memorial Club. It will start at 4:00pm in the Aurora Room. It will be $5 per head, but children 12 years and younger can attend for free.
Payment is available on the day cashor EFTPOS is accepted.
All money raised goes back to Junee veterans. Two drink vouchers are given on arrival.
Bruce Warburton said he was looking forward to it and has seen it grow pretty quickly over the years he has been there.
“We have a Christmas party every year since I’ve been in the club, at least, for the veterans and their families, and our club members. The veterans don’t necessarily have to be members of our club, but we’ve invited everybody, all veterans living in the Junee area and all serving members living in the Junee area,” he said.
“It’s really a time for everybody in that group to come together and celebrate. It’s to try and get people to come together. They may not have seen each other for a while, and everybody comes in, has dinner, sits, and talks to like-minded people.
“Initially, we started a few years ago, just with the barbecue, but the last two years, we’ve served a cold buffet of prawns, ham, and chicken with salads and a dessert afterwards, and we provide some free drinks to the people, beer and wine, and softdrinks if there are any children.
“That’s what the Sub-Branch is all about, we raise money during the year to host events that veterans and the community people can come together at.
“It will go back to the veterans. We raise that money, and every year, everything that we make goes back to the veterans.”
